“The natural landscape of Aruba is experiencing an intensified desertification process; arid landscapes are expanding over the island. Species migrations are occurring to great extent, turtles and bird types, that use Aruba as breading spot are shifting to other parts of the region. As mentioned before, especially beaches and coral reefs are among the essential natural assets that Aruba possesses to compete in the tourism industry. Unfortunately several beaches around the Aruban coastline are being influenced by similar erosion processes [.]”
